There are so many ways to do resist activities and this is only one of them. This was a classic resist activity where the kids used white, wax crayons to color on the paper. We then gave them liquid watercolors that also included gold. Using gold makes the paper look very festive and can be used as wrapping paper or gift cards.

As you know resist is when you color on a paper with either a piece of candle, crayon or something else that will make it resist the paint when painted over it. The children get to make any kind of marks with the wax based item and then paint over it. If they are older they can incorporate the wax drawings so that when they paint over the waxed drawing that piece comes out white. There are so many different uses for resist pictures and what I have here is only a very basic, process only beginning resist activity.
